The Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones are causing quite a stir, with many consumers looking to upgrade their devices. Google has partnered with Verizon to exclusively offer these phones to customers, and now the carrier wants to take advantage of this by offering customers huge credits on trade-ins when you upgrade.
For a limited time, Verizon is offering up to $400 on trade-in depending on the type of smartphone you bring in. This is a huge incentive on customers to upgrade even if it isn’t time for them to make the switch.
Of course, Google may have partnered with Verizon for these phones, but that isn’t stopping them from selling unlocked versions of the phone from their online store. These phones can be purchased and then taken to any carrier to be activated and used. While you may not be able to find the Pixel and the Pixel XL at your local T-Mobile and AT&T stores, you can still use them on those networks.
Those carriers are also doing what they can to encourage customers to stick with them. T-Mobile, for example, is offering customers a half-off deal when they bring the phone to the carrier’s network. That deal seems to be what made Verizon offer the deal as they don’t want to be outdone by the competition. Of course, these deals are great for customers. Unfortunately, it seems AT&T hasn’t released its own deal, at least not yet.
Check out the rundown of the Verizon deal. New customers can save up to $400 when they purchase a Pixel or Pixel XL when signing up for Verizon’s monthly device payment plan. Current Verizon customers can get up to $300 on a trade-in when buying the Pixel or Pixel XL. So what smartphones are part of the trade-in deal? Here they are:
- Galaxy Note 5
- Galaxy S6
- Galaxy S6 Edge
- Galaxy S6 Edge+
- HTC M9
- iPhone 6
- LG G4
- LG V10
When you upgrade, you will receive a box from Verizon within five days so you can return your old smartphone. New customers will get an electronic gift card within two weeks and current customers will receive a credit on their account in the next two billing cycles.
All-in-all these are great deals on these phones. Even if you have to purchase a phone at full price and take it to your carrier, some of the deals they are offering can make that completely worth it. Don’t forget, it also means you own the phone and won’t have to make payments on it for the next two years. That sounds pretty good, too, if you ask me.
Have you been wanting one of the new Google phones? Then now be the best time for you to get it. What do you think about these offers?
